Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee serves as the driving force behind the Maryland Building Industry Association’s advocacy efforts, helping shape policies that impact housing, development, and the building industry throughout Maryland.
Comprised of builders, developers, remodelers, and industry professionals, the committee works closely with MBIA leadership and government affairs staff to review legislation, identify industry priorities, and develop positions on key issues affecting housing affordability, land development, workforce challenges, permitting, and regulatory policy.
The committee plays a critical role in:
- Monitoring proposed legislation and regulations
- Evaluating the impact of policy changes on the industry
- Guiding MBIA’s advocacy positions and priorities
- Supporting outreach to elected officials and government agencies
- Advancing policies that promote responsible growth and housing opportunities across Maryland
Participation in the Legislative Committee provides members with the opportunity to stay informed on emerging policy issues, engage directly in the advocacy process, and help influence the future of Maryland’s building industry.
Whether you are passionate about housing policy, industry regulations, or protecting the future of homebuilding in Maryland, the Legislative Committee offers a meaningful way to get involved and make an impact.
