ACTION ALERT - Oppositon to Senate Bill 811 Real Property Entry of Final Sale Price in Multiple Listing Service (MLS)
Re: Senate Bill 811- Real Property Entry of Final Sale Price in Multiple Listing Service (MLS)
Senate Bill 811 has passed out of the Judicial Proceedings Committee as drafted, which requires developers, builders, brokers, and real estate agents to report the final sale price of new homes into a multiple listing service or similar database within 30 days of closing.
While transparency in the housing market is important, this bill imposes an unnecessary and burdensome mandate on the private sector. New home sales are already subject to extensive reporting requirements, and adding another layer of compliance will increase administrative costs without clear evidence that it will meaningfully benefit consumers.
Please tell your legislators to oppose this bill.
