Professional Bio

Monica Robertson is a Principal, Director, and an owner of HCM, an architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and planning firm of over 425 professionals with projects across the United States. Additionally, Monica leads HCM's Dallas office, is President of HCM Design West, Inc. which provides design services for clients in Nevada, and also of HCM Design South, P.C. which provides design services for clients in Mississippi.

Additionally, as the firm's Housing | Mixed-Use | Planning leader, she is responsible for overall studio management, financial oversight, strategic planning, marketing, and business development initiatives. Licensed in 17 states and in the District of Columbia, she oversees a variety of complex projects across the country including urban mixed-use buildings, master planned communities, multifamily residential development, adaptive re-use, student housing, retail, hospitality, and commercial office buildings, with construction values typically in the range of $60 – 150+ million each.

Monica is experienced in sustainable design, was one of the first LEED Accredited Professionals in the State of Maryland and is also a National Association of Home Builders Certified Green Professional. Shortly after earning her LEED accreditation in 2003, she was a part of the original steering committee which formed the Maryland Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. She is also a past recipient of Baltimore Business Journal's 40 Under 40 honor.
