Land Development Council Meeting feat. Guest Speaker, William Pines of MD State Highway Administration

As Administrator of the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), William Pines leverages over 20 years of state public service to lead nearly 3,000 employees in managing 18,000 lane miles of roadways and over 2,500 bridges. His career spans extensive leadership across Maryland transportation agencies, including tenures as Chief Engineer, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director of the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) before returning to lead the SHA in August 2023. An alumnus of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Master's in Management, Pines holds multiple industry credentials, including P.E., PMP, and CCM certifications, and focuses his administration on workforce development, infrastructure modernization, and a dedicated "people-first" approach to pedestrian and work zone safety. Under his leadership, the SHA focuses on a strategic plan driven by team excellence, worker and pedestrian safety, organizational modernization, and a dedicated "people-first" approach to community and employee engagement. 

Land Development Council - Connecting Your Business to the Resources You Need

The Council offers the opportunity to work with other professionals in an exchange of ideas to promote the continued viability of land development.

The mission of the Council is to identify emerging issues both in the field and within local and state legislative and regulatory actions and development of the advocacy priorities for the Association.  The Council work s with local chapters and the MBIA Legislative Committee to formulate positions on issues critical to the land development and construction industry.

• Public Relations- the Land Development Council will work to heighten public awareness of the views and needs of the land development industry and build a positive image for builders and land developers.
