Join us on Thursday, June 4th for our next LDC Meeting, featuring Guest Speaker Bob Yeager, Director of State Department of Assessment (SDAT)!

Bob Yeager is the Director of the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT), having been appointed to the role by Governor Wes Moore in 2025. An attorney by trade, he previously served as the state’s first Tax Sale Ombudsman, where he established the Maryland Homeowner Protection Program to prevent property loss for vulnerable residents. His career is defined by a focus on legislative reform, housing security, and financial regulation. Beyond his government service, he frequently collaborates with industry partners on initiatives related to workforce development and housing affordability.

Land Development Council - Connecting Your Business to the Resources You Need

The Council offers the opportunity to work with other professionals in an exchange of ideas to promote the continued viability of land development.

The mission of the Council is to identify emerging issues both in the field and within local and state legislative and regulatory actions and development of the advocacy priorities for the Association.  The Council work s with local chapters and the MBIA Legislative Committee to formulate positions on issues critical to the land development and construction industry.

Membership includes benefits such as:

  • Representation- you will receive legislative representation on significant issues affecting the development process
  • Information- you will be invited to seminars and meetings proving important and timely information focusing on development issues.
  • Public Relations- the Land Development Council will work to heighten public awareness of the views and needs of the land development industry and build a positive image for builders and land developers.
  • Education- You can attend forums and seminars on issues such as land use planning and growth management, infrastructure, impact fees, community design, zoning, forestation, the state regulatory process, acquisition and financing, wetlands, storm water management and many more topics affecting the development industry.
  • Awards Program- You will be eligible to participate in the Land Development Councils prestigious peer review awards program which showcases the best new communities in the region.
  • Networking- the LDC will provide you with the opportunity to interact with most of the top notch developers in the state.

*Half of your LDC Dues goes directly to MBIA’s Special Issues fund which funds various advocacy efforts on behalf of the Industry
