We are honored to welcome our Guest Speaker, Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary, Katie Thomson. Appointed as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation on December 18, 2025, Kathryn “Katie” Thomson brings over 30 years of legal, policy, and operational leadership across the transportation, aviation, energy, and sustainability sectors. Her extensive public service includes executive roles as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration—where she managed a $20 billion budget—U.S. DOT General Counsel, and Director of Implementation for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, overseeing $660 billion in federal infrastructure funding. In the private sector, she served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for worldwide transportation and sustainability at Amazon and was a partner at Sidley Austin and Morrison & Foerster. Thomson holds degrees from the University of Illinois and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
