Land Development Council Meeting feat. Guest Speaker MD Sec. of Planning, Rebecca Flora

Rebecca L. Flora, AICP, was appointed by Governor Wes Moore and confirmed as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Planning in early 2023. She brings over 40 years of experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors, specializing in urban planning, sustainable development, and interagency collaboration. Her extensive background includes serving as the founding Executive Director of the Green Building Alliance, the first woman Board Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council, and principal of ReMAKE Group, LLC. At the Department of Planning, Secretary Flora leads state initiatives focused on economic growth, community development, regional resilience, and streamlined regulatory oversight, including her work with the Maryland Coordinated Permitting Review Council.

Secretary Flora will be giving an update on the Maryland Coordinated Permitting Review Council (established by Governor Moore’s Executive Order 01.01.2024.39) was created to improve and streamline the state's permitting process to boost economic competitiveness and business growth.
